Dance With The Devil

He was one of those kids.
He didnt have any friends and he always kept to himself.
He'd shoot you these deadly glances in the hall,
But he'd never dare speak to you.

He was one of those kids who you could imagine shooting up the place.
Like one day, just maybe, he'd pull out a gun and kill us all.
He never did though.

He was an athiest.
He was destined to burn in the melting pot.
He believed in devils and curses and angels who fell from the top.
He hated life, but secretly, he loved it.

He thought about that image every day.
The image of his dad beating up his mum
to the point where she almost cried blood.
And then he'd remember how he'd turned on him and his little sister.
He must have been the devil in disguise.
He had no love, and felt no pain.

He listened to the voices in his head..
"Think of me before you shut your eyes"
So he did.
And it haunted his dreams every night.

He sat down at his exam paper.
This was it.
This was what he had been working up to for years.
He sat there and flicked through the pages
Until he came across question 23- "define bravery".
He put his pen to the paper and scrawled a few words.
Then he stood up and walked out the door.

They found his body at the bottom of a cliff the next day.
A bullet in his heart and a devil in his pride.

They looked back at his exam, and the answer to question 23 read
"this is"
For he had died with no soul.
